However, the Demon, the ruler of Hell, cannot find a suitable host to possess and so remains imprisoned in his own world. In a desperate attempt to conquer Asia, he sends his son in his place, intending to eventually become a vessel that can be possessed by the Demon King. Ao no Exorcist follows Rin Okumura, who seems like a normal, somewhat troublesome teenager - until one day he is ambushed by demons. His world is turned upside down when he discovers that he is actually the son of the Devil himself, and that his demon father wishes for him to return so that they can conquer Asia together. Not wanting to join the King of Gehenna, Rin decides to begin training to become an exorcist so that he can fight alongside his brother Yukio to defend Asia.
